Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is also known as Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple, is one of the eminent Lord Vishnu Temples in Kerala. Important Festivals

Each year’s Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple Trivandrum commemorates a number of little and big carnivals. It contains,

1. Laksha Deepam Festival (Lighting of One Lakh Lamps)

It is one of the major exclusive carnivals celebrated at Sree Padmanabhaswamy shrine. The word Laksha Deepam means Lighting of One Lakh Lamps. It is held once in 6 years, on that occasions many of the oil lamps are lit in and around the Sri Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple premises. The last festival was celebrated on 2008 and the upcoming Laksha Deepam festival is on January 2014.

2. Navratri Festival

Navratri Festival in this temple held during September/October months , this festival engages processional bringing of the idols of Saraswathi, Durga Parameshwari, and Murukan to the Kuthira Malika palace which is situated in front of the temple.
